Family engagement is a cornerstone of the history and current work that the Supporting Families Affected by Parental Mental Illness and Addictions program. Our program was created following intensive community outreach and consultations, which identified that kids and youth affected by parental mental illness and addictions were not getting the services they needed.
Currently, we engage families and clients in the following ways:
- A family member is part of our Core Operating Partners groups
- We regularly invite family members to sit on interview panels when hiring new staff
- We incorporate ways to gather family feedback and input in real time during events to inform our future planning!
